Wherstead Park makes a beautiful backdrop for a wedding. The grade II listed Georgian mansion makes you feel like you’re on the set of a period drama, while the contemporary Atrium provides a stylish dining area. The stunning venue is set in beautiful landscaped grounds overlooking the Orwell river and Wherstead Parish Church. The historic mansion boasts a grand staircase which makes an impressive background for couple shots and is a great place to get group pictures. I used the staircase for the Suffolk Magazine cover photo when I shot their mother of the bride fashion feature.
Wherstead Park has vast mature gardens with lots of big trees for countryside shots. And the pretty rose garden is perfect for capturing more intimate pictures. The wedding breakfast room in the Atrium is large and light making it ideal for natural and candid photography. And there is a state-of-the art lighting system which can be set to match the wedding theme.Despite only becoming a wedding venue two years ago the accomplished and welcoming team know exactly how to make each couple’s day perfect.
